Twitter Inc is set to reintroduce a revamped version of its premium subscription service Twitter Blue on Monday, according to a tweet by the company. It will reportedly feature a higher price tag for Apple users, to offset the exorbitant fees Apple charges app developers to list their products on its App store. Twitter Blue will cost $11 through the App Store, vs $8 regularly.

The new Blue service will offer users a blue verification checkmark, offer priority in replies, as well as offer subscribers the ability to edit tweets and upload 1080p videos.

The Twitter Blue service had initially been offered as a simple subscription service, however users upset with Elon Musk’s takeover of the company, and offering of the blue verification checkmark for a price, chose to protest the decision by impersonating the accounts of real entities and individuals.

After a raft of impersonating accounts sprung up, some done by celebrities, and after two instances of individuals impersonating companies managed to create fake tweets which impacted share prices, the service was paused, while Musk and his leadership looked for ways to prevent the impersonation issue from being a problem in the future.

Musk subsequently got into a Twitter war with Apple over threats to remove Twitter from the App Store if it deemed Twitter’s moderation of users to be insufficient. Musk tweeted criticism at Apple CEO Tim Cook for the company’s censorship of other Apps, and then accused the App Store of imposing a 30% tax on the internet, referring to a 30% fee on profits which Apple charges developers, in return for offering their apps through the App Store.

Musk subsequently was invited to Apple headquarters for a meeting with CEO Tim Cook, after which both tweeted they had ironed out their differences, and Twitter would be offered through the App Store.
