Cathie Wood was excited to see Elon Musk take over Twitter, saying she thinks it is exactly what the platform needs.
In an interview with Yahoo Finance, she said, “I am kind of excited to see what Elon will do. I actually think he will work closely with [Twitter Founder] Jack Dorsey and maybe open up the ecosystem, take away the censorship, make it much more transparent, and I think add more value to the ecosystem.”
Musk filed a confidential letter with the Delaware Chancery Court seeking to follow through on his original purchase agreement with the social media giant on its original terms.
Musk had tried to back out from the deal over uncertainty about how many Twitter accounts were real active daily users, and how many were bots and spam accounts. Confidential communications revealed during the discovery process revealed Musk has butted heads with Twitter’s senior management, particularly CEO Parag Agrawal, as worried employees began to seek other employment.
The billionaire automaker is widely expected to clean out the senior leadership of the company, before focusing on turning Twitter into the foundation for what he calls a “super-app.”
Wood believes Musk’s leadership will also clean up the platform’s content, saying, “I think there is a lot of wisdom out there. We are kind of sick of the nonsense that we see on some of these social media platforms and Twitter. I think Musk is going to give us more tools to filter out the nonsense and get right down to business.”
