A poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows the vast majority of Americans are unhappy with the direction of the nation’s economy.

According to the poll 29% of American adults feel the economy is in good shape, while 71% say it is “doing poorly.” Furthermore, only 27% of adults are satisfied with the economic and political course taken by Joe Biden, and 72% say the nation is going in the wrong direction.

The researchers noted, “President Joe Biden’s popularity has improved substantially from his lowest point this summer, but concerns about his handling of the economy persist.”

Biden’s economic leadership, only gets the approval of 38% of adults, as 53% say they disapprove of his management of the raging inflation.

According to the poll, domestic issues are the top priority of the respondents. The top five issues cited were inflation, the state of the economy and jobs, gun control, the abortion rate, and gasoline prices.

The poll surveyed 1,054 adults, from September 9th to the 12th, drawing upon a sample taken from NORC’s probability-based panel, that was designed to be representative of the US population.
