Plane ticket prices are up 45% from a year ago and up 8% just from March. Demand is rising, but so are oil prices, which are the second biggest expense of airlines, and which have doubled in just the last year. Airlines are warning of a ticket shortage, however it is unclear what the effect will be of any recession in the economy which some expect may be on the immediate horizon.
